Thanks to a wide range of pet-friendly accommodations on the Isle of Wight, you can take the whole family with you on holiday, even the four-legged members!
Tapnell Farm has a variety of dog-friendly holiday lets set in the beautiful rural West Wight countryside, commanding the most amazing sea views, stunning sunsets, and rural walks and trails right on your doorstep.
If you’re looking for pet-welcoming group accommodation, try Three Gables in the heart of the rural village of Newbridge. Sleeping 10 and up to 3 well-behaved dogs, the garden provides a lovely protected spot to relax with beautiful panoramic country views, fenced all around making it secure for your pets.
Comfortable cottages and a quirky shepherd’s hut are waiting to welcome you to stay at Godshill Park. Set on a working livestock farm in an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), you’ll discover dark skies for stargazing and walks to meet the animals. The central location ensures that the many Island attractions are all just a short journey away.
For a dog-friendly holiday home with walks on tap, try the National Trust-owned former Coastguard Cottages, named after notable shipwrecks and situated in a stunning position high up on the Needles Headland. You’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Solent and surrounding areas plus the cottages are at the end of a continuous area of 370 acres of open downland, cared for by the National Trust and a great place to explore with your pooch. The cottages can be booked together for family and friendship groups, or singularly. Each has a wood burner for a cosy evening in and accepts 2 dogs and includes a doggie welcome pack and bowls.
The Coach House & The Stables on The Moorfield Chase Estate are a delightful pair of contemporary stable conversions, located in the rural village of Brighstone, within the Isle of Wight National Landscape, just a short distance from the shoreline to the south, the Brighstone Downs to the north, making it a popular spot to stay for doggie walks.
Even bigger four-legged friends can come on holiday at the Island Riding Centre. This modern and bright self-catering accommodation is set across a range of cottages, a Victorian Dairy barn conversion, a detached modern ranch-style bungalow and a gated safari camp perfect for large group glamping get-togethers with an option of exclusive hire. Onsite you’ll find rescued sheep, lambs and chickens, the horses graze in fields surrounding the accommodation with lovely onsite walks to stretch your legs. If you’d like to learn to ride or have an advanced hack take advantage of the equestrian facilities, beach and trail rides and activity clubs on offer.
