About
A row of National Trust owned former Coastguard Cottages, named after notable shipwrecks and situated in a stunning position high up on the Needles Headland with spectacular views of the Solent and surrounding areas. They are at the end of a continuous area of 370 acres of open downland, cared for by the National Trust. The cottages are enjoyed by walkers, with paths from the cottages leading directly onto Tennyson Down and along the coast to fine beaches. Just 5 minutes walk away is the Needles Old and New Battery, also in the care of the National Trust and from which there are speclacular views of the Hampshine and Dorest coastlines. It was the threat of an invasion that prompted the construction of the Battery in 1862 and you can still see the original guns on the parade ground.
The cottages can be booked together for family and friendship groups, or singularly. Travel cot, highchair and children's crockery available. Each has a woodburner in the sitting room for a cosy evening in. They each accept 2 dogs and include a doggie welcome pack and bowls. Secure bike sheds with lighting available. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier. Parking area.
Best of all, by staying with us you will be directly contributing to the National Trusts Conservation Projects both locally and nationally, forever for everyone.
