As an Island we are proud of the conscientious and responsible actions of our local community and Tourism and Travel industry throughout the pandemic. We love to see locals and visitors relaxing together on our idyllic beaches, enjoying our warm hospitality, exploring breath-taking landscapes, discovering exciting things to do and falling in love with the Isle of Wight. At the heart of the Island is a deep appreciation for where we live; the beauty, the charm and the people.

When out and about please ‘Travel the Wight Way’ and show kindness, patience and consideration to others and respect the landscape:

• Plan and book in advance.
• Respect measures that may still be in place to protect you and others.
• Show consideration and kindness to those around you.
• Escape the crowds and explore our UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
• Download the simple-to-use Beach Check App. The app provides real-time information for Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor beaches. You can find out how crowded a beach is so you, your friends and family can enjoy promenades and beaches safely. Using a traffic light system, you will be able to check whether beaches are quiet (marked green), starting to get busier (marked orange) or are congested (marked red). • Leave our beauty spots as you found them.
• Consider wearing a face mask in enclosed spaces.  
• Love and respect the Island, whether its home or a home from home.
