Farringford self-catering cottages are located within the grounds of Farringford Estate near Freshwater Bay.  Farringford was the home of Alfred Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate, from 1856 until his death in 1892.  Farringford has recently undergone an extensive renovation program with the aim of restoring it to how it was when Tennyson lived at Farringford Estate.  
 
The newly planted Walled Garden is already well established and a beautiful haven for butterflies and bees.  You are welcome to appreciate the grounds and gardens during your stay.
 
All the self catering cottages have been re furbished to high standards with a home from home feel.  They offer a great haven for those looking for tranquillity or a great location from which to explore the Island.  There are fantastic walks straight from the Estate and it is not far to travel to some of the Islands more infamous attractions.
 
You are very welcome to enjoy the grounds during your stay and you may also undertake one of the pre arranged tours of Farringford as part of the booking.
 
Alfred Cottages are situated just behind Farringford and surround a communal green with picnic tables and white rose flower beds.  They offer 2 or 4 bedrooms and dogs are very welcome in some of the cottages.
 
Stable Cottages are situated on the edge of the Estate, with a communal cobbled courtyard with garden furniture and brightly planted pots.  Originally the stables to the House they have been sensitively renovated to offer their own individual character and charm.  The Stable Cottages offer 1,2 and 3 bedroom options and dogs are very welcome in some of the cottages.
