Walking festivals are a great way to enjoy the great outdoors and see parts of our island you can only explore by foot. Whether you enjoy a light stroll, are looking for your next heart-racing challenge or simply after a new destination to discover, take inspiration from the locals’ sharing their favourite routes.
Whether you enjoy a stroll along the flat with a pit-stop at the pub, a jaunt through the countryside with your four-legged friend or like to test your mettle against leg burning inclines (of which our island has many), the Isle of Wight Walking Festival offers something for everyone.

Over 50% of the Isle of Wight is recognised as an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and is one of few places in the UK to gain UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status for its unspoiled landscape, clear waters and thriving wildlife and spectacular views. Add over 500 miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths and you'll see why the Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a walking festival.
