Cowes Classics Day

On Sunday 7th July, Cowes Classics Day (free event), preceding the start of Cowes Classics Week, promises to enthral all those with an interest in classic cars and boats. A display of 50+ classic and interesting cars will be on The Parade. There will also be a unique collection of classic motor boats on Trinity Landing, a visit by a WWII Motor Gun Boat and flying displays including a Spitfire.

Vote for your favourite car and boat, there will be an Awards ceremony at 4.30pm. 

There will also be a food and drink stall on the Parade, live music to recall the era of classic cars, the Isle of Wight’s own Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang replica in the morning, and other attractions for all ages.

Enjoy a classic afternoon tea at the Royal London Yacht Club, one of the most historic and prestigious yacht clubs in the South Coast. Situated on The Parade, Cowes, overlooking Trinity Landing and the Solent beyond, it is a privilege to visit this elegant Regency members’ clubhouse. The Club’s hospitality team will welcome guests to the Dining Room, directly overlooking The Parade and all the Cowes Classics Day activities. Cowes Classics Week

Over 150 boats will be sailing varied courses set in the Solent including Metre boats, Classic Racing Dayboats, Classic Yachts, Old Gaffers and Spirit of Tradition Yachts. Racing will run from the 8th July to the 12th July 2024 and there will be two races a day or three if weather conditions permit. 

The event attracts a wide variety of classic yachts ranging from fleets of one-design dayboats, to unique classics from a bygone era.

The week will hold many social parties held at different club venues including afternoon tea, as well as a gala awards ceremony to celebrate the sailing.
