Isle of Wight local produce

With fertile fields and surrounded by seas, the Isle of Wight is a true haven for food production.

Farmers, brewers, growers and fishermen have taken advantage of the ‘facilities’ and our island now produces top quality, award-winning treats for you to enjoy on your stay.

So, why not try our cheese, tomatoes, meat, fish, fruit and veg and much more … not forgetting the prize winning beer, wine and gin to be had.

The Isle of Wight Cheese Company has won World Cheese Awards for its Isle of Wight Blue and its Gallybagger hard cheese is a firm favourite.

Our island has one of the best sunshine records in the UK and one of the results is sweet, juicy tomatoes. Many local shops stock heritage Isle of Wight tomatoes from The Tomato Stall.

Meat lovers will find a great choice of beef, lamb, pork and chicken cuts at the Isle of Wight Meat Co shop near Shorwell, most of it reared on the company’s own Cheverton Farm.

If it is the ocean’s harvest you fancy sampling, then visit J&B Fisheries’ shops in Freshwater and Cowes. Here you can find fish, lobster and crab for you to cook and enjoy.

Last but not least, enjoy a tipple from Adgestone Vineyards or the amazingly popular Mermaid Gin from the Isle of Wight Distillery.
