Road Directions

To Island:

Sat Nav/GPS Southsea, Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Portsmouth. PO5 3AD.

Head to Portsmouth and onto the M27. Join the M275 and continue past the continental ferry port towards Portsmouth. Follow the signs for Isle of Wight ferries, Seafront and Historic Waterfront. From here on, follow the signs for the hovercraft ('yellow triangle' symbols to Southsea beach and Clarence Pier).

There is a large council operated pay and display car park opposite the hovercraft terminal.

On Island:

Sat Nav/GPS Hovertravel ltd, Quay Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 2HB

A3054 to Ryde. Travel to and along the Esplanade, turn left into Quay Road (next to Bowling Alley) Hovercraft terminal is next to Planet Ice Arena on esplanade.

To Island:

Located on the UK South Coast, Southsea is the ideal passenger gateway to the Isle of Wight and is easily accessible from all parts of the country by road and rail.

By Rail -  Alight at Portsmouth & Southsea Railway Station and follow the signs to the Hoverbus. You will cross the road by the zebra crossing leading you to the Hoverbus stop (see map below). Our specially operated Hoverbus Service will take you directly to our Southsea Terminal for just £1.00 per person. The Hoverbus connects with our hovercraft and will make sure you are at the Hovercraft Terminal in time for your craft. It couldn’t be easier!

On Island:

By Rail - Alight Island Line Trains at Ryde Esplanade. Walk across the railway bridge and you are at Ryde Terminal or walk to the entrance of Quay Road, pass the Coach Park and Planet Ice to reach Ryde Terminal.

By Bus – Take no.3 or 8 if travelling from South East Wight, 9 from Newport or 4 from East Cowes alight at Ryde Esplanade, cross the railway bridge to Ryde Terminal. For further bus information please visit Southern Vectis - www.islandbuses.info/.
