The White Lion began life as a coaching inn and has been at the heart of the village of Arreton for well over 200 years.  Today the team of experienced chefs use fresh ingredients to create traditional home cooked dishes, using local produce when available.  Many of the dishes are gluten free, including  delicious homemade gravy and there are vegetarian options, all of which are marked clearly on the menu.  The menu is  available to view on the website.  A wide range of wines, ales, spirits and soft drinks are stocked.

The pub is family friendly and there is a separate children's menu.

Full table service is provided so that you can make the most of your visit without having to queue at the bar.  There is an open fire surrounded by a comfortable sofa and chairs, a perfect place to enjoy a drink.

Outside there is a courtyard where you can enjoy the sunshine and admire the view of the 11th century church of St George's and the downlands beyond. Many walkers pass the door and dogs are very welcome in the foyer and bar areas.
