Perfectly located on the picturesque waterfront of the Medina River in East Cowes, The Lifeboat is one of the Island's most popular bar restaurants offering a warm, friendly welcome to locals and visitors. 

The pub is a favourite with visiting yachtsmen during the summer months as well as a family friendly, home from home amongst the local community. In the summer, the large, and patio area offers one of the best and idyllic riverside dining experiences on the Island.

For many visitors to the Isle of Wight, East Cowes will be the first port of call as the Red Funnel car ferry delivers passengers from mainland England straight into the town centre. 

Home to Queen Victoria in the early 1900's, East Cowes proudly surrounds the beautiful Osbourne House and was once also renowned as a maritime industrial town and former home of the British Hovercraft. One of the most arresting landmarks noticed by many as they approach the Island from sea is the vast Union Jack painted onto the shore side doors of the old hovercraft factory. These days, whilst remaining small and unique, East Cowes is a busy, vibrant town with a cluster of popular independent shops and a stunning marina development.

For The Lifeboat, food is their speciality. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or a light bite or bar snack all year round. Taking full advantage of the wealth of local produce available, The Lifeboat have created the perfect balance of modern contemporary cuisine from around the world. The extensive menu alongside a choice of home cooked daily specials offers diners a variety of meat, seafood, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes. Children and families are always welcome and the 'Under 12's’ menu makes dining with the family a pleasure for everyone. 

The Lifeboat is the ideal place to relax and watch the world go by with breath taking views across East Cowes Marina. Visitors can unwind within the comfort of the large patio, enjoy the sunshine and watch the bustling activity on the water as the boats come and go. During the summertime the Lifeboat hosts a number of live music events showcasing some of the Island’s most talented musicians against the beautiful backdrop of the river.

The large indoor restaurant area is buzzing throughout the year providing a comfortable area for small intimate gatherings as well as large parties with extensive views over the patio and marina. During the winter months you can cosy up amongst the warmth of the candle lit atmosphere, enjoy a traditional board game with friends and a great choice of home cooked winter favourites.

The Lifeboat has an excellent choice of local ale, beers, ciders, wines, spirits and alcohol-free options as well as their popular hand-crafted drinks menu which changes with the season.
