Iconic Northwood House, which is set in beautiful Northwood Park in the heart of Cowes, has a rich history of hosting events and celebrations of all kinds. Purchased in 1793 by George Ward, a successful London merchant, the House was rebuilt and extensively decorated by his son, George Henry Ward. Many lavish parties were thrown by the Ward’s throughout the Victorian era when the Island was a popular destination for the royal family. Queen Victoria’s own children often came over from Osborne House along with the rich and famous from all over Great Britain, to enjoy the high society soirées hosted at the House. 

Today this grade II* listed Georgian manor house, which is now looked after by the Northwood House Charitable Trust Co. Ltd, continues to provide a stunning location for any event, no matter how large or small and is available to hire for any special occasion or celebration imaginable. It is one of the busiest wedding venues on the Island hosting ceremonies and receptions through out the year.

With six main function rooms available to hire, couples can choose a size of room that suits them best best. With space that accommodate  up to 200 guests to help you celebrate, the Northwood House team will  endeavor to accommodate your every need.

For even greater flexibility the House offers  a list of approved caterers for you to choose from- with everything from a-la-carte fine dining, from top Island restaurants, to simple finger buffets and hog roasts. The in-house licensed bar team can provide you with everything you need from Pimm's on the lawn to a full champagne reception. 

If you want to take your celebration or event outside, Northwood House has plenty of licensed space for you to spread out and invite even more guests to join you.  It is one of the best locations for a marquee wedding marquees, with the venue offering high quality marquees and extra facilities through their in-house event team ESQ Events (www.esqevents.co.uk) who are happy to quote for your every need.

With its central Cowes location, easy parking and close proximity to all major transport links including the Southampton Red Jet high speed catamaran service, it's a great venue to choose if you have lots of guests visiting from the mainland. And if you just want to escape to the Island for a quick ceremony, the journey from London can be completed in less than 2.5 hours. It's no wonder Northwood House is helping the Island to become the new Gretna Green of the UK!

It's not just wedding though. Northwood House provides the perfect grand setting for all manner of celebrations and special occasions including birthday and anniversaries parties, wakes, renewal of vows, dinners and balls.

During Cowes Week International Yachting Regatta each August the venue becomes a centre for all sorts of activities and parties and host the famous Lawn Lounge Bar and Cowes Week Gin Festival as well as a number of prestigious corporate receptions and dinners. The venue is also available for conference bookings and meetings.
