Glowing reviews of Isle of Wight cuisine are not hard to come by and critics don’t just go gooey over its seafood.
Locally reared meats, scrumptious fresh vegetables, Island mushrooms and garlic – the Isle of Wight really is a treasure trove of fine dining.
Of course, fish and shellfish feature heavily on the menus but you are also likely to find a fine Isle of Wight sirloin steak or a perfectly cooked Island asparagus risotto.
Vegetarian and vegan diets are well catered for at most fine dining establishments and they make the most out of the local Isle of Wight produce on offer.
The Smoking Lobster restaurants in Ventnor and Cowes have become popular choices for Islanders and visitors in recent years with their Pan-Asian cuisine, while the superb tasting menu at Se7en at The Royal Hotel, Ventnor is the newest ‘go-to’ dining experience on the Isle of Wight.
Ryde, being the largest town of the Island, has a wide range of eating experiences and The Heron has been gaining rave reviews thanks to chef Alex Kimber.
