This picturesque, family-run pub sits on Newport Harbour, overlooking the river Medina and is within a three minute walk of Newport, the Isle of Wight's county town and is truly at the heart of the Island. The Bargeman's Rest is just a short walk down Quay Street or Holyrood Street from Newport High Street, so is perfectly placed for a hearty meal or a drink on the water's edge.

The comfortable spacious bar is steeped in nautical memorabilia so you can enjoy a delicious home cooked meal from the extensive menu featuring some classic pub grub. The Bargeman's is known among locals for it's great selection of real ales on offer, many from local Isle of Wight breweries.

There's live music most nights of the week from local musicians and jazz played over Sunday lunchtimes as well as a number of events throughout the year and annual real ale festivals. The Bargeman's is also a popular choice of venue for meetings, conferences, special events, weddings and wakes.
