About
These two hundred year old cottages are perfect retreats for couples looking for a relaxing, peaceful break. They have recently been renovated to a very high standard, with care taken to retain original features. They both offer charming accommodation with a double bedroom, 'king size' bed and a bathroom with bath and overhead shower upstairs. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, plus a well-equipped, fitted kitchen. Each cottage has its own garden and garden furniture, so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine.
Originally farm-workers cottages, they have been in the same Isle of Wight family for three generations. Situated in beautiful countryside and enjoying open views across fields to the Solent, a variety of sailing boats and cruise liners can often be seen passing. Set in a lovely walking and cycling area with footpaths and tracks extending in various directions, including the coast at Wootton Creek, the woods of Briddlesford Copse and Arreton Downs.
Both have a very similar layout; on the ground floor there is a spacious open plan living room with a Freeview Smart TV / DVD - a lovely place to relax in front of the wood burning stove. There is an attractive dining area and a newly equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and small freezer. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a ‘king size’ bed, walk-in wardrobe and wonderful open views across fields to the sea; a well-equipped bathroom with bath, overhead shower, w.c. and basin. Central heating, electricity and WiFi Internet are included.
There is parking for each cottage within the outer garden area and in the garden of number Two, there is a delightful wooden summerhouse, which is the perfect peaceful place to sit and enjoy the views and evening birdsong.
An antiques and collectibles emporium is located within the nearby farm buildings, which guests have found to be an unexpected added bonus, and a local farm shop and restaurant for lunch is just a few minutes away
Both self-catering cottages are non-smoking and available throughout the year for weekly bookings from Friday to Friday, with short-breaks available a certain times. They are not suitable for children or pets.
