Kemphill Barn

Built in 1769 as a 2 storey building with hay stored above shire horses, Kemphill Barn has been lovingly converted into a beautiful holiday home. It still overlooks the original duck-pond, and commands wonderful views across the farm. The old hay-loft door, and magnificent beams have all been retained to preserve its unique character.

Being one large self-contained unit, it comfortably sleeps 10 in its 4 en-suite bedrooms. There is full central heating and ample car parking.

Ground Floor: Large well equipped farmhouse kitchen/diner with a range-style gas/electric cooker. French doors lead out to enclosed patio/garden. Utility. Separate W.C. One double bedroom with an en-suite shower-room and one Kingsize double/twin room with a wet room.

First Floor: Spacious sitting-room. Cast iron stove. 3rd bedroom, en-suite bathroom with shower attachment, two single beds plus 2ft 6 cabin bed located above beam and reached by small step-ladder. 4th bedroom, treble (own staircase) en-suite with over bath shower, large double/twin bed (zip & link) plus further single.

Kemphill Dairy

Kemphill Dairy is a lovely Edwardian building constructed from local brick and clay tiles. Although very modern when first created in 1911, milking finally ceased in 1999. All later extensions have been removed, and in 2002 the interior was carefully transformed into the luxurious, 5 bedroom, all en-suite, accommodation you find now.

Externally, with the exception of replacement windows, little has changed. Indeed, the two doors at the eastern end, with their huge step, are a reminder of where the cows left the building after being milked.

The large door, where the cows entered, has been replaced by a floor to gable, double glazed window. This gives stunning views to the west, and also gives access to the patio. Here guests can enjoy a barbeque, and relax with a drink as the sun sets over the unspoilt countryside.

Ground floor: Entrance hall with ceramic tiled floor. Very large, impressive, farmhouse type kitchen/dining room with gas/electric range and ceramic tiled floor. West facing, floor to ceiling double glazed wall with access to fenced patio/garden. Utility/laundry room. Separate W.C. First double bedroom with zip/link bed plus further single bed (for +1), large en-suite shower room/W.C. Second double bedroom with zip/link bed, en-suite, (wheelchair friendly), shower/W.C. Third double bedroom with zip/link bed and en-suite bathroom/W.C.

First floor: Galleried sitting room overlooking the kitchen, vaulted ceiling with original beams and outstanding countryside views. 2nd staircase to first floor. Beamed fourth double bedroom with zip/link bed and en-suite bathroom/W.C. Fifth double bedroom, also with beams and zip/link bed plus a further single (for+1) and en-suite shower/W.C.
