About
Arethusa Cottage Holiday Lodges boasts two very different style self-catering lodges. Both are very comfortable and well equipped and suitable for families, couples or groups of friends. The lodges are in a wonderful location with no neighbours, tucked away at the end of a private lane, but with Ryde town and beach just a walk away.
Guests have use of an indoor heated pool 9 x 5m which is open all year during the day and evenings.
The lodges are set well-spaced apart, in a large natural landscaped garden with an attractive pond area (the pond is home to approx. 60 fish) with a choice of 3 seating areas pond-side available to guests. The garden is visited regularly by red squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers, blue-tits, jays and other wildlife.
Monktonmead Lodge sleeps up to 6 people (a double room, bunk room and 2 single mattresses in the Eaves). Woodside Lodge sleeps up to 4 people (a double room and a double sofa bed in the living space). Both lodges have their own good size decking area with BBQ and outside seating. Dogs are welcome in Woodside Lodge and dog walking is literally on the doorstep in Pig Leg Lane Nature Reserve.
The Isle of Wight is very dog friendly and Ryde has many shops and cafes that welcome four legged friends.
A discount is offered for booking both lodges together and this works well for an extended family, with grandparents in the smaller lodge able to join in with the family holiday but having their own space too!
There is ample off-road parking and a ferry discount is available.
Arethusa Cottage Holiday Lodges has received fabulous reviews from previous visitors with many guests returning time and time again.
Unfortunately, the lodges are not set up for those with limited mobility as there are several steps down to the lodges and around the garden.
The owners live on site in their own cottage and have a very friendly tri-paw Romanian rescue dog.
