Get ready for a truly enchanting holiday experience at the Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival 2024, a beloved Isle of Wight tradition that brings festive cheer to locals and visitors alike. Taking place from Thursday, 5th December to Sunday, 8th December, the festival will feature over 150 beautifully decorated Christmas trees displayed across nine charming venues in Brighstone, Mottistone, and Calbourne. With free entry and venues open daily from 10 am to 5 pm (unless otherwise stated), this is an unmissable event for the whole family.
**Festival Highlights:**
- **St Mary's Church**: Be captivated by the impressive Advent mosaic created by the community. Enjoy storytelling, choir performances, and concerts throughout the weekend. Christmas trees remain on display until Twelfth Night.
- **Brighstone Methodist Church**: Delight in tree displays and warm refreshments, with decorations up until Twelfth Night.
- **The Wilberforce Hall**: Treat yourself to savory delights at Tandem Café on Thursday and browse charity stalls. Kids can enjoy face painting on the weekend, and festival-goers can purchase a special decoration designed in collaboration with local artists, supporting Mountbatten Hospice and other charities.
- **Brighstone Social Club**: Tap your feet to live music from acts like the Boogie Woogie Sisters and the Wight Ukers.
- **Brighstone Library**: Little ones will love participating in the mini children's Christmas tree competition.
- **Mottistone Church**: Discover the "Wild" Nature-themed display and illuminated animal lantern walkway, supported by local schools and the New Carnival Company. Enjoy engaging wildlife talks throughout the festival.
- **All Saints Church, Calbourne**: Experience the serene beauty of the "Choir of Angels" display, with trees remaining on show until Twelfth Night.
- **The Three Bishops Pub**: Soak in festive entertainment all weekend long.
- **Isle of Wight Pearl**: Open daily from 10 am to 3 pm throughout December.
**Festive Events & Activities:**
- **Craft Market**: Browse handmade gifts and enjoy refreshments at the Scout Hall from Friday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.
- **Festive Charity Tractor Drive**: On Saturday, 7th December, Vectis Vintage Tractor & Engine Club will host a thrilling drive, starting at 3:30 pm at the Isle of Wight Pearl and culminating in a snow-filled disco celebration at The Three Bishops Pub at 5:30 pm.
- **Santa Visits, Live Music, & Morris Dancing**: Family-friendly fun throughout the festival.
- **Children's Passport Competition**: Young adventurers can collect stamps at various venues to win prizes.
- **Raffle, Stalls, and More**: Opportunities to support local charities and win exciting rewards.
**Opening Celebration:**
Join the special Lights of Love service on Wednesday, 4th December, at St Mary's Church in Brighstone. This heartwarming event, supporting Mountbatten Hospice, marks the official start of the festival.
