The Rex in Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight, is a modern and relaxed form of dining fine. No pretentions, just excellently prepared tasty food from the highest of culinary standards in our kitchens, served in a friendly style, with the best views of the headland of Ventnor Bay!

The Rex as it is today is an Art Deco styled building overlooking the sea from a prominent cliff location in Ventnor. It sits on the site which once held the Rex Cinema that many of the local community still remember fondly. Built in about 2003, the current Kingsview building of luxury appartments houses The Rex Restaurant with its unrivalled views over Ventnor Bay and miles of the IW coastline from its two tiered balcony. Originally styled as a piano bar with black shiny tables, rattan furniture and a creatively swirling bar, the Rex is fresh, whilst retaining a deco feel with rustic and coastal ambiance and is excellent in all weathers.

The REX Restaurant - We are open for Coffee (or other drinks) 10am-12.00pm, lunch 12-3pm and dinner 6-9.30pm as standard but Chef Ricardo is happy to serve up until 10pm if you are late arriving on the Island or just prefer to eat later - just let us know as soon as you are thinking of coming over to The Rex so we have some advance warning if possible (phone 01983 853355 or 07712891855) . Generally bookings are recommended to guarantee a table but not always essential unless you are a party larger than 8.

Special events throughout the year and bookings for private parties, conferences, functions, weddings or other large group gatherings are always welcomed. Please contact us to discuss.
