One of the Island’s oldest and most beloved pubs, The Buddle Inn offers a delicious menu and warm hospitality in a picturesque setting. The 18th century smugglers inn has long been a favourite with locals and visitors, nestled in the heart of the Undercliff and just a stone’s throw from St Catherine’s Lighthouse.

Grade II listed, The Buddle is characterised by rustic flagstone and oak flooring throughout, with exposed original brick work and low handing beams overhead. In winter diners can warm up by a roaring log fire at the centre of the pub, and in summer sit out on the sun terrace with glittering views of the sea.

Diners are spoiled for choice when it comes to food, with a well curated lunch and dinner menu chock full of pub favourites and refined dishes, washed down with a great selection of wines, spirits, beers and local Island ales.

Lovingly refurbished in 2023, the Buddle even offers a small shop selling the best of local produce – perfect for taking a taste of the Island home with you. Owners look forward to unveiling four boutique bedrooms above the pub in 2024, an idyllic location for an Island escape.

The charming character pub is also dog friendly, surrounded by winding footpaths though to Niton village, along the Undercliff, down to Blackgang Beach and Castle Haven. Perfect for working up an appetite or walking off your lunch - muddy boots and paws are very welcome.

A raised platform makes for the perfect top table or entertainment space, and you can enjoy a private bar and downstairs facilities just for your guests.

The Barn is available for private hire day to night for up 60 people seat and 90 people standing. Choose from a selection of refined sit-down menus to suit you budget, with buffet catering options also available with guests tended to by our dedicated hospitality team.
