Shanklin’s original dining pub on the beach, Fisherman’s Cottage is one of the longest established pubs in the south of the Island, trading since the early 1800’s. Boasting the most enviable beachfront location at the far end of Shanklin Esplanade, just past the entrance to Shanklin Chine, Fisherman’s Cottage is renowned for its home cooked lunches and dinners as well it’s warm welcome. 

The pub offers a mix of traditional pub classics alongside delicious seafood dishes which can often be found on the daily specials board. The fish and chip are famous locally as being some of the best on the Isle of Wight. The pub gets very busy in summer time and even though space inside is limited, many visitors enjoy sitting outside right next to the sea for the ultimate holiday dining experience. 

Frequented by savvy locals and discerning Island visitors, the pub is child and dog friendly and perfect for escaping to after a long day on the beach or following a coastal stroll around the bay from Sandown. 

Fisherman’s Cottage Inn opens seasonally, but is always open before Easter, right up until the end of November (weather permitting). A cosy atmosphere can always be found, especially when the weather is bad outside.
