At Visit Isle of Wight, we talk daily of the beauty, uniqueness and warmth that characterises the Island and all we have to offer as a destination for visitors.
We receive constant feedback from those who have experienced the Island for the first time and the 100th. Stunning beaches, rolling countryside, so many things to do, delicious food, friendly people, amazing hospitality – “what a special place, we cannot wait to come back!”
But while visitors can discover the wonderment of the Wight over a long weekend, as locals we are lucky enough to live in an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and one of the top UK holiday destinations 365 days a year.
We can step outside of the front door and be 20 minutes from miles of golden sands, we can open our windows and hear the sea and our daily walk with the dog offers some of the most stunning views in England.
There are friendly pubs serving up local grub on our doorstep, exciting attractions to entertain the kids, we can eat freshly caught seafood with bubbles by the sea if we are feeling fancy or stop off for a pint and a roast mid cycle, head to toe in mud with mates.
We have the luxury of making every weekend like a holiday on the Island, should we so choose.
More things to do and eat and drink venues have re-opened and are now welcoming you back. COVID safe measures are in place to ensure everyone stays happy, healthy and protected.
In these stages of the Government's recovery roadmap, local businesses need your local support.
Now is the time to enjoy the Isle of Wight like a visitor. If you had just arrived on the Island for the first time, where would you go, what would you do?
Why not make a weekend of it every weekend for the foreseeable and discover a new appreciation for this special Island we call home. Learn something, try something, or go somewhere new.
We encourage you to join us and your neighbours and rediscover your Island and love where you live.
