Nestled in an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Totland Bay is the perfect place to begin your holiday on the Isle of Wight. The crystal-clear water and the coastline found here inspired many artists and writers, most notably Alfred Lord Tennyson, where he finds ‘every landscape fair, as fit for every mood of mind.’

Whether you're seeking an active adventure on foot, bicycle, or surfboard, or if you choose to slow things down with picnics, pub lunches, or sunset strolls, your stay at one of our cosy cabins will allow you to explore all the Island has to offer.

Our cabins, Nipper’s Rest and Somewhen Lodge, are tucked away in the tranquil and friendly seaside village of Totland Bay. You will find a well-stocked shop, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance, with a number of pubs and restaurants dotted along the sea front, where you can enjoy a meal accompanied by a breath-taking sunset and the sound of waves lapping the shore.

Nippers and Somewhen are close to numerous scenic coastal and countryside walks including the Tennyson Trail, Alum Bay and the Needles, a real treat for any walker or cyclist. We are just a short drive from Freshwater Bay, Yarmouth and Compton beach, where you can visit local landmarks or explore hidden fossil hunting spots off the beaten path.

Each cabin has a private patio and with an additional shared garden area with covered outdoor seating, so that you can spend time in the open air whatever the weather. Placed in the shared garden area, we also offer a traditional steam sauna which is available every evening, perfect to unwind and soothe those aching muscles after a long walk or challenging bike ride. Re-energise by braving the outdoor cold shower! In addition, you will have access to a purpose-built, heated boot room, equipped with a dryer and hanging area for wet swimwear or outdoor gear and boots.

Both cabins have individual secure bike shelters, and if you have been particularly adventurous, we also provide bike tools, puncture kits and a bike stand so that you are prepared for your next excursion. For those who love the sea we supply body boards and surf boards which are available to use at any time, just bring your own wetsuit.

With all the comforts of home and free WIFI throughout, our self-catering cabins are modern in design with an open plan kitchen, dining and living room, and a cosy bedroom that can be arranged to suit your requirements, double or twin.
