About
Isle of Wight Tipi Holidays provides a magical, beautiful and relaxing glamping experience. You can hire tipis on the Isle of Wight, perfect for creating a unique and memorable escape amidst stunning coastal scenery.
We have a woodland site in the West Wight, near to the Yar Valley, a favourite for birdwatchers and good for cycling, walking, horse riding, paddleboarding and kayaking. There are a number of lovely beaches nearby suitable for swimming, rock pooling and surfing.
We can also provide Tipis or Bell Tents on other sites throughout the island (with the landowners permission of course!). You choose the campsite, make a booking, check with the owners that they have enough space for a tipi and then simply book with us.
Our site can be booked for small festival style wedding parties for up to about 50 people and we can provide a large tipi for a chill out area, a shelter with hay bales or wooden benches underneath, a honeymoon tipi for the wedding couple and sleeping accommodation for overnight guests in tipis or bell tents. An exclusive whole site booking can be made for family gatherings, again up to a maximum of 50 people. There is parking for a limited number of cars within the site, but we do encourage guests to cycle or use public transport where possible.
We are situated about 15 minutes drive from the ferry port of Yarmouth and can arrange to meet guests if required. Yarmouth has an array of interesting shops and several pubs and restaurants and there are taxi services available, although it is a pleasant approximately 40 minutes walk along the old railway line from our site to Yarmouth.
The Tipis
Each tipi sleeps two people and comes equipped with most of the essentials for your stay. They are fitted with a raised double bed or two single beds if required, all made up with sheets, duvets, warm blankets and pillows. There is an electric cool box, clothes storage, coffee table, bedside tables with lamps and coloured rugs on the floor. The provision of an electrical supply on other sites cannot be guaranteed and would have to be arranged, if possible with the campsite owner.
Our site
The area was planted as a conservation planting around 27 years ago and is now home to a variety of wildlife, including red squirrels and many species of songbirds. There are wooded areas with meadow space in between, where the tipis are placed. We allow fires in open firepits. There is a "field kitchen" with a cold water supply and camping stove and barbecue, plus all cooking and eating utensils. There is also a solar shower and composting toilets on site. We are off-grid but have solar panels which provide enough power to run the cool box and charge phones/tablets/laptops if needed.
Over 20 years experience
Eve and the crew at Isle of Wight Tipi Holidays have been hiring tipis for over 20 years. They can accommodate a single tipi hire or a number of tipis for parties, events, weddings and festivals.
