Dinosaur Farm Holidays is based on Lower Sutton Farm, also known as "The Dinosaur Farm" and is situated on the South side of the Isle of Wight on the main coast road. It's about three miles South-East of the village of Brighstone between Isle of Wight Pearl and Chale. Set in a beautiful coastal SSSI "Site of Scientific Interest", it is a great area for bird watching and star gazing. Quoted in the Isle of Wight County Press by the Vectis Astronomical Society "One of the best sites to observe the sky is the Dinosaur Farm Museum".

Dinosaur farm:

We are a small friendly, family farm, with sheep, horses, ducks and, of course, dinosaurs have been found here! At least 30% of a brachiosaurus dinosaur, the most complete of its type in Western Europe, was found on our farm in 1992. We were the H.Q. for "Live From Dinosaur Island", many of the scenes were filmed on our farm, and most of the panoramic views were of our cliff and the surrounding area.

On site there is the Dinosaur Expeditions, Conservation and Palaeoart Centre, which displays dinosaur fossils, palaeoart. There are also children's activities and a fossil gift shop.

Caravans based at the farm:

There are five six-berth caravans situated on the farm with rural views. They all have three bedrooms and are modern, well furnished with all modern conveniences. A shower and a flush toilet are inside each caravan. They have electric lighting, fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster and colour TV. Plus gas cooker, fire and water heater with hot water to all sinks and showers. Electric and gas are inclusive within the price. The only items not supplied are towels, duvet covers, base sheets and pillowcases.

A large grass area surrounding the caravans makes this a lovely safe haven for children to play or to gaze at the dark sky above in the evenings. 

Surrounding area:

There are two beaches nearby and the closest beach can be accessed via Shepherd's Chine, less than a mile down the Military Road towards Chale. Compton Bay beach one of the most popluar beaches on the Island is five miles away at Compton Bay. Eating out is nearby with pubs located in Brighstone, Chale and Shorwell. 

We are ideal for a quiet country holiday amongst lovely rural views, with many walks, Isle of Wight Cycle Route close by and places of interest to visit on the Island. Cycling and walking route maps are displayed in each caravan to provide guidance and inspiration on the Island's routes.
