Bermuda House has a place in history as the location where Sir Edward Elgar and his new wife Alice chose to spend their honeymoon in 1889. From the house Sir Edward wrote to a friend "We are liking this place very much and have nice rooms overlooking the sea...".

These days the house is a 4 Star self catering holiday destination with a Gold Award. With fine panoramic sea views over the harbour and blue flag beach, high original ornate ceilings, and a beautiful carved staircase this house is in a prime location less than two minutes from the centre of the town in one direction and two minutes to the beach in the other.

The house is the ideal base for a family holiday on the island or for somewhere to get the family together, say for a special birthday celebration. There is a wide range of places to eat and drink within 10 minutes walk.

The house has been fully refurbished and sleeps ten in five generously sized bedrooms (a king, a double, a triple, a twin and a single). Additionally there is a double sofabed in one of the living rooms for occasional use by arrangement and two of the single beds in the triple room can be zipped together to form a super king bed. All of the bedrooms have nice views, either of the coast or of the downs which rise attractively behind the town.

Other features include:

- A fully equipped through kitchen diner on the lower ground floor including washer/dryer and dishwasher
- Three bath/shower rooms plus a cloakroom
- New oak flooring in most rooms
- Free to view satellite TV in three rooms

The house is available through the main season by the week, Saturday to Saturday, and at other times it is available for weeks and short breaks.
