Location

- Area around the cottage is called the Bowcombe Valley (meaning beautiful) in an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

- Sheep graze in the fields around the cottage and there is abundant wildlife in the surrounding fields and woods including hares, buzzards, red kites, partridges and red squirrels.

- 10 minute drive to Newport and shops. Same distance to south coast sandy beaches.

Getting around

A car is advised although the cottage is situated on the No 12 bus route which stops at Cheverton Farm. 

Other things to note

- Distance to the farm facilities is around 250m but we recommend that parents with young children drive rather than walk due to lack of pavement along the road.

- There are slopes in the back garden, steep stairs to the first floor and a sloping driveway. The property may not be suited to guests with mobility difficulties.

- Sorry no dogs at this property.

- The indoor pool and children’s playground are situated at the farm which is about 200m up the road towards Shorwell village. The pool is open from 7am to 10pm and shared with one other holiday cottage. 90 minute sessions can be privately booked a day in advance.

- The internet speed is around 28mbps provided by a free mobile broadband connection (due to rural location) but is sufficient for streaming and video calls.

- Supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda will deliver to the cottage.
