Cowes and East Cowes are connected to each other by a chain ferry, which runs regularly through-out the day and into the night. There is a charge to cross the river - with different prices depending on whether you are a foot passenger, car, or van.
The two towns are also well connected to the rest of the Island, thanks to the Southern Vectis bus service.
Cowes is served by route 1 to Newport, with journeys up to every 7 minutes from Monday to Saturday, and up to every 10 minutes on Sundays. The service alternates between the park and ride service and round house - with each terminating at the Red Jet terminal in Cowes.
East Cowes is served by the route 4 to Ryde, with journeys up to every 60 minutes from Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes on Sundays.
East Cowes is also served by the route 5 to Newport, with journeys up to every 20 minutes from Monday to Saturday and up to every 30 minutes on Sundays.
Please check the Southern Vectis website for more details.
